Celebrate Kent’s walking territory

18th March 2020

Nothing helps calm the mind, body and soul than a long stroll, does it? Kent’s rich landscape is a walker’s paradise, packed with all the excuses you need to take to your feet, stride straight through the next few months and into the summer! Whether you’ve always fancied yourself as a long distance walker or you just want to marvel at those views as you edge around the coast, we’ve got even more walks to keep you on your toes right now.

Head to the Hills

Celebrating their 50th anniversary of the Kent Downs as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the 40th anniversary of the North Downs Way National Trail in 2018, these amazing areas have been an iconic walking spot for decades! There are over 153 miles to be explored on the North Downs Way in Kent, stretching from the White Cliffs of Dover to the countryside of Sevenoaks. Take a short circular walk to stretch your legs and get back in to nature! Celebrate an icon

Augustine Camino Trail

Step back in time on a pilgrimage in the footsteps of St Augustine from Rochester Cathedral, past medieval Aylesford Priory and Canterbury Cathedral and Abbey, ending at the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate. Enjoy a taster with short group trails, but make a plan for the future to do the full week-long trail! Follow St Augustine

Viking Coastal Trail

A favourite route among walkers in Kent, this one circles the entire Thanet peninsular at 32miles long! Sensational views and the vibrant seaside towns of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs can all be discovered along the way, so feel free to break it down into shorter sections for a new selection of sandy beaches and countryside every weekend. Circle Thanet

Active Ramsgate

With five walking fantastic walking routes and the UK’s only Royal harbour at its heart, Ramsgate is the spot to go for those lazy Sunday strolls and seaside jaunts. Stretch your legs on the Sea it All walk from Ramsgate to Broadstairs for clifftop views, or take a loop around the town on the Regency, Royal and Riviera walk for a peak at astonishing architecture. Roam in Ramsgate
