Ashford International Model Railway Centre (AIMREC) is a charity that runs a model railway museum and education centre in Bethersden. We welcome visitors of all ages on Saturday afternoons to enjoy our collection of model railways in various sizes and scales including a hands-on starter sets for younger visitors and the winning layouts from the Great Model Railway Challenge.
Budding builders and operators can get up close and personal with our award winning exhibition layout, learn about Ashford’s railway history and find out the story of a model railway with Royal Connections. You can complete your visit with tea and home-made cakes in the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We aim to make the hobby accessible and fun for all ages and backgrounds, and especially welcome family groups and community organisations.
Our railway themed studio and workshop located in Bethersden has step-free access, a fully accessible toilet and ample car parking.
We are open all year round with special events on certain days. Book your visit at www.aimrec.co.uk or E mail friends@aimrec.co.uk.
Our AIMREC Facebook page provides regular updates.
