Enjoy the great outdoors with a walk along a selection of the England Coast Path starting in Sandwich before head to the coast at Sandwich Bay. Take in the sea air and unwind as you head towards Deal where you can enjoy a bit to eat at one of the many establishments including Deal Pier Kitchen where you can sip coffee as you soak up panoramic views of Deal beach which has just been named the best seaside resort in the UK by the eco brand ‘The Solar Centre’.
Then carry on towards Walmer where you can take a moment to relax in the Queen Mother’s garden at Walmer Castle and Gardens Then carry on along the beach towards Kingsdown. If you need another respite the Zetland Arms serves local Shepherd Neame beer in a stunning coastal location.
Continue along the path towards St Margaret’s Bay where you will find another example of a great pub in White Cliffs Country, The Coastguard which is in fact Britain’s closest pub to France. The maritime heritage pub serves an A la Carte menu for lunch and dinner.
The path then heads up the cliffs where you will stumble upon South Foreland Lighthouse that once was a life saving beacon for mariners guiding ships through Goodwin Sands. Carry on following England’s Coast path along the White Cliffs of Dover for more speculator views across the channel.
Then head down towards Dover Harbour and the town where you will find plenty of places for a bit to eat or something to drink.
