The early 16th century half-timbered house once belonged to Victorian actress Ellen Terry and contains her fascinating collection, including the newly conserved and celebrated Beetle Wing Dress display. As you walk through Smallhythe you’ll learn about Ellen Terry’s extraordinary career and unconventional private life. You’ll be entertained by a diverse programme of productions in the theatre and garden, with performances throughout the year.
