Whitstable combines old seaside charm with a modern Bohemian vibe and this reflected in the Whitstable Bay collection. Using traditional brewing methods, we have created a range of refreshingly, thirst-quenching beers to suit the modern palate. While we encourage you to come and try it its native environment, you can now have a taste of Whitstable wherever you are.
The Whitstable Bay range is made by Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer, which is based in the market town of Faversham in the heart of hop growing country.
A trip round its Faversham brewery walks you through the whole process, from tasting malted barley to sipping fruity ales. Set in the centre of this historic market town, the brewery is open to visitors who wish to discover more about this proudly independent family company and its wide range of award winning beers. The Visitor Centre is set in a beautifully-restored medieval hall house and, from here, you can join a guided tour which will take you through the heart of this busy working brewery, to see how beer is made from barley to bottle and from hop to hand-pump!
For the ultimate experience, why not stay in one of their hotels or inns where you can enjoy great food and drink in stylish comfort? Located amongst the beautiful coast, picturesque countryside and bustling towns and cities, the properties offer something for all tastes and budgets, in distinct, characterful style. Some highlights include The George Hotel - one of Cranbrook’s most historic buildings, The Ship and Trades in the heart of Chatham marina, the stunning Zetland Arms or the The Royal Albion in Broadstairs which has been standing proudly on the seafront since 1776.
